“HOLY SH!7, I CAN’T BELIEVE HOW INCREDIBLE THE GRAPHICS ARE ON THIS SYSTEM!!!”
That was something I said almost 9 years ago. It is now 2009 and this outdated piece of junk is still around. With such advanced and more impressive hardware out there such as the XBOX360 and PS3, I’m even willing to throw Wii out there, I’m surprised this hunk of junk hangs on for dear life like an inflamed hemmoroid that won’t go away.
There is a time and place for everything and PS2’s time has come and gone, but people still continue to pour there money into this to keep it afloat. Look, if you want to play classic PS2 games, you can still play it on the PS3. Stop whining about the price of the newer systems and move on. If you can’t afford it, then sell a kidney. It is time to put this pig to bed.

I loved my Ps2, I loved it like a baby, but, my baby died. It started teking longer and longer to read the game, then it started freezing over and over, causing me to lose any progress on my game. For christmas I got a Xbox 360, and I am so very glad I did, I cannot belive that I thought that the Ps2 was Tech, when there was the Xbox, Oh, the wonderful xbox. With the comfortable controllers, great graphics, and fun games, why anyone would still buy a new Ps2. Just my opinion, but the Ps2 is still okay, but if you are a serious gamer, seriously consider a xbox 360 instead.

If you looking for a Gaming console this might not be a very good one to start on. I’ve owned many consoles over the years and the ps2 in my opinion is the worst. Although they have some nice games you cant play on other systems its just too annoying having them break all the time. out of all the systems I’ve had the ps2 is the only one to ever really break. I’ve owned 2 of them so far and they have both broken, were on the other hand i’ve only owned one xbox, gamecube, and 360 and none of them have broken yet. So what im trying to say is that a ps2 is not worth the money over any other system out i dont even want to buy a ps3 because my friend has had his for 3 months and its already been fixed two times. try checking out a 360 or regular xbox before wasting money on a ps2.

I am warning anyone considering purchasing this system – DON’T!!
I bought this when it first came out (2001 or so), and it lasted 8 months before it died. It stopped reading any of the games I tried out. The classic “Disc Read Error” message became commonplace in my house. Sony would do nothing for me, it was more expensive to get it fixed than to buy a new one. So. . . . . like an idiot I bought a new one. My second PS2 only lasted 6 months and did the same thing. This time, it would not eject my NCAA Football game so I had to force open the disc tray just to get my game out. Once again, Sony would do nothing. The warranty was only for 90 days, thus the 6 month time frame did not allow warranty coverage. This was a very disappointing product, as I had never had problems with Sony products before. I enjoyed many of the games I played on the PS2, I just believe that it should last longer than 6-8 months. I bought an Xbox and never had any problems with it. Ever. Shame on Sony for putting a junky product, charging $200 for it (at the time), and then not backing it up with a decent warranty.
Overall = Poor

This is the second Playstation 2 I have owned, and the second one that has failed to read any disc within three years. I have followed lens adjusting guides, bought a new lens and installed it, and the system now fails to even spin the disc. I literally do not know a single person whose original PS2 is still in working order, whether they bought the first console or this slimline model.
Had only either of the TWO of these consoles I purchased survived to continue playing its extensive library of games, which now simply take up room on my bookcase, it would’ve been an easy five star review.
Game consoles should not simply decide to stop working. Sony has lost a customer for good.
